Bideford’s Coolest Cafe, Bar & Restaurant
Velvet and Vanilla is a unique Cafe Bar nestling in the heart of Bideford. We have an extensive menu of hot and cold food, refreshments and soft and alcoholic drinks. We are open throughout the day, providing food and drinks to the mid-morning tea or coffee drinker, through to the night owl wanting a mezze platter and drinks. We have special evening offers available.
The specials board is regularly updated with delicious home-made soups and other tempting treats. Wherever possible our fresh ingredients are sourced and delivered from North Devon producers and merchants.
Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meals
Our eclectic menu includes breakfast items, light bites, cakes, stone baked pizzas and Mediterranean style mezze, salads and bar snacks. All of which can be accompanied by alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from speciality teas and coffees through to long and short cocktails. We have intentionally designed our menu to give our customers a choice of traditional options as well as more cosmopolitan dishes and drinks that are not widely available locally.

We believe we are unique in Bideford and the surrounding areas for our traditional afternoon teas. This quintessentially English treat for two or more is beautifully presented on a tiered cake stand so you and a friend can indulge in freshly made sandwiches, our trade mark home-made coleslaw, warm scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of home-baked treats, accompanied by a fresh pot of tea.
